About Ministry of Environment


Ministry of Environment’s mandate was primarily to secure a clean, healthier and sustainable environment that will be conducive for tourism, economic growth and wellbeing of the citizenry. The Anambra State Ministry of Environment is charged with the responsibility of overseeing the Environment sector in the State. The ministry in doing so has the responsibility to formulate policies, laws and regulations that will enable the State to achieve the target on the Environment which is a key pillar of the Solution mandate and the making of a livable and prosperous home land.

 Our Core Mandates

Formulation of Policies on Environmental Issues

Subject to the mission statement, the ministry shall prioritize the formulation of policies addressing environmental issues.

Formulation and Evaluation of Policies relating to Climate Change.

Within the scope of our mission, the ministry shall actively engage in the formulation and rigorous evaluation of policies pertaining to climate change.

Control, Management and Monitoring of Flood and Gully Erosion

As part of our mission, the ministry shall dedicate resources to effectively control, manage, and monitor flood and gully erosion.
